BUBBLING INSIDE          2024
ACRYLIC
This sculptural piece captures the motion of water into a solid state. The vapid ruptured movement of splashing and droplets bouncing are emphasized through the shapes cut out into the acrylic and the clip on pieces on the edges. The outer layer of the acrylics mimics the fluidity of water whereas the inner shapes cull to the cunning pain felt when slashing through the water. The contrast between these two visceral states emphasizes the various motions of fluid. Blue and mirror acrylic sheets were chosen as the desired medium as they allude to both the properties of color and subsurface refraction and reflection given when peering into the water.
