BUT-IM-FREE 2024
PLA FILAMENT
This project integrates 3D printware into fashion, bringing futuristic, alien-inspired forms to the forefront as wearable accessories. The concept stemmed from imagining the tender wings of a butterfly extending from the nostril and curving around the face. Merging functionality with aesthetics, the piece adapts to the wearer’s vision while maintaining a complex structure within the field of view. This piece was an experiment exploring the possibility of 3D printware into the field of fashion.
The process began with a freehand wireframe prototype, later layered with hot glue and painted white for 3D scanning. The scanned design was refined in NOMAD Sculpt and finalized in Blender.
