This series explores the identity of self and gender, navigating the juxtaposition between the subject that is rendered in light. They are depicted as object of spikes, fur, flesh and mesh in the distance.
Created during the isolation of COVID-19, this piece reflects my seldom opportunity to explore my own gender ideology, free from societal judgment. The subject, wary of the ball of confusion before them, continues forward on their journey. The environment surrounding them is saturated with color beyond the confines of gender ideology, existing in a state of androgyny. Seen drifting between where society expects one to be and the heightened sense of where one truly belongs. The flesh remains at a distance within the moment.
